I can't believe it, but the 4E is a regular wide shoe. I ordered my first pair as the regular size. I could not get the shoes on. So I returned them to Amazon.com. I really liked these shoes and the price after shopping around. So I ordered a second pair as a 4E and they fit perfectly. As a big guy, I have been able to walk 12 miles a week in these shoes. Yesterday, I did a 5K under 45 mins non-stop in these shoes, plus other exercise. Wonderful shoe, but you need a 4E, if you do not have a skinny foot!

I run a hiking trail with a vertical climb of 1200 feet and need stable shoes for rough terrain. The New Balance MT shoes are the shoes of choice for me. They fit good. Stable upper. Impact absorbing. The uppers last longer than the soles and I can tell when I need new shoes partly because my knees feel it andmy times drop. I get about 350-400 miles per pair. This is my third pair of the 880 which is a good price point for me. I am a bit wary to go with the minimus shoe for these trails because of the rocky terrain.

Great shoes! Fit perfect! Plus made in America! What else could you ask for. I would recommend these to anyone and I would buy these again.
