flimsy trail shoe

they look great, i love the bold scheme and the rugged appearance. The shoelaces tuck into a little pouch at the top of the tongue to keep anything from getting snagged on branches. The sole provides great traction in the sand/dirt of Torrey Pines trails. They're lightweight and have a low amount of drop from the heel to the toe (calves will get sore if you're not used to that)However:I would not buy these again. They seem flimsy and the shoelace eyelets provide no capture of the shoelace. If you lace them too tight there is quite the pinch point at the top of the arch. I had to learn to tie the laces looser than I like to prevent that arch pain and consequently they just felt like they were flopping around on my feet. I was disappointed with these. Maybe i'm bitter I rolled my ankle really hard in them.Also, these shoes are slicker than snot on wet surfaces like sewer lids, metal panels on sidewalks, wet tile in locker rooms, wet smooth stone. Great in dirt but only dirt.

Nice looking and mostly well fitting

The only draw back for this item on the fit to my foot is the arch support. This can be remedied with an insert. Like the shoe but a little high priced (about 20%) for being an imported item. Overall the fit is good.
