So far, so good

I have been plagued by continuous shin splint injuries for over a year and have tried both off-the-shelf and custom orthotic inserts as well as several different types of running shoes...all without much luck. Ultimately I suffered a stress fracture and took 8 weeks off as required but when I returned to running, I immediately felt the same old pains agains and could barely mange a mile or two. So out of desperation, I started cruising the web to see what was out there for 2013 (in terms of new shoes) that may help and came across the Guide 6 and thought I'd give 'em a shot.The shoes look great, felt comfortable right out of the box and after logging about 35 miles so far this past week, I'm happy to say that I feel a definite improvement to the point I can't even feel pain when I run now....although admittedly, the next day is still a little tender. Either way, there's a dramatic improvement on where I was before. So although it's still early days in my Guide 6's....so far so GOOD!

Very comfortable from the start, has good support & breaths great...my feet don't get too hot in them. I would recommend these shoes...I like them a lot better the cheap shoes you get at retail stores.

i recommend these shoes

These shoes are very efficient for cross-country races with a very good drive. the size is good but the shoes are not so easy to put because the size is a little bit narrow. However to keep the shoes on the foot during the races, this narrow size is very useful.i really recommend these shoes.

Beware! These run small!!!

Please heed the warnings that others have posted. These shoes run small. You will need to get a 1/2 size bigger. I was looking for a cool looking casual sneaker for everyday use....THESE ARE NOT built for that. These are a low profile running shoe with zero support. I found them to be a little uncomfortable in that regard as well. I've tried New Balance Minimus and Nike Free's. These felt more like wearing a pair of Converse All-Stars than a minimal running shoe. Granted I couldn't get past the fact that they were so tight that I couldn't wear them for more than an hour. I wish I would have tried them on somewhere before buying. If you have a chance...do that before purchase.

I had been looking for better "gym" shoes to workout in as opposed to a pair of New Balance running shoes I had been using.My workouts consist of cardio, stationary bike, rowing machine followed by weight lifting. I needed shoes that were better for the weight lifting part of the exercise program.I took a look at some of the minimal shoe offerings, but after trying on a couple pairs I really didn't care much for the almost barefoot feeling those style of shoes imparted so I went searching for something with a bit more substance between my feet and the floor.I ordered two pair of shoes from Amazon at the same time. This pair and a pair of New Balance's new MX997BK2 shoes.Both pair were tried on for fit inside my home. The Inov-8 immediately felt much better. The width in this case was the deciding factor. I wear a size 12 and in both cases, the shoe length was correct. However the New Balance was much narrower in the area where the arch transitions into the big toe and forward, giving a very constricted feeling to my feet. (I noticed this as well with my last pair of New Balance running shoes as well. Perhaps they have changed the last they are using?).I have been using the Inov-8's now for approximately a week and I am very pleased with the shoe so far. It is meeting the requirements of providing the necessary support and stability for the weight training portion of my workout along with performing nicely for the cardio portion.If you are looking for something more than the "barefoot" experience, but less than the cushioned pampering of some heavily padded running/exercise shoes, and weight training is part of your program, then these fit the bill nicely IMO.

Sturdy

I have been buying asics high jump shoes for 6 years now, and I love them. They are amazingly well built shoes that last multiple seasons (My last pair, the Beijing style, lasted for 3 or 4 years). However, this pair is almost too sturdy, I just recently got a bruise on the side of my plant foot because the shoe doesn't have very much give to it. Looks great

Uncomfortable runner

Toe box is small, shoe depth is shallow, and shoe strings are short. These are not what I expect from asics. When I run, which is approx 20 miles per week, I feel like I'm going to slip out of them because they feel shallow. The toe box is also cramped an the strings hardly long enough. I do double knot which is almost impossible with these shoes. In sum,!i would not buy these again for running or otherwise.
