Great Shoes

I've been a big fan of Adidas golf shoes for a number of years (various generations of Tour 360's), and decided to try these out because they looked light and comfortable. They are certainly both, plus they do an excellent job of "connecting" you to the ground -- not just from a traction standpoint but also feel. I'm extremely satisfied, and for the price, I think they are hard to beat. I liked them so much I had to buy another pair in a different color.

Extremely lightweight and comfortable shoe

This shoe is very comfortable. I was a little concerned at first because adidas always tends to run narrow and I have a wider foot. But after trying them on, I decided they were just what I was looking for. I have several pair of heavier, more stable golf shoes, mostly from FootJoy, that I love. But as a walker, these are a welcome addition. THESE ARE NOT WATERPROOF SHOES. They are made of a very thin mesh material, which is why they are so light, but they are definitely not to be worn in soggy wet conditions.

1st Pair of Under Armours

I'm a Nike guy but decided to try these UA's with a gift card. The uppers look great but the soles are a monotone shiny grey, not speckled like the picture depicts. They refer to the height as mid-cut but they're the same as any Nike trainer I've owned. They're a little tight at first but are stretching nicely. I'll wear them proudly but I'm not converted.

Too soft and squishy and not enough lateral support

I've run a few 50ks, 3 - 50 milers, 1 - 100 miler, and 16 (I think) road and trail marathons and I have done them in all kinds of shoes. So I have no allegiances to any shoe brands. I went to Roadrunner to try out some newer trail shoes to replace my trusty NB100s that have served me well over the years. What I liked about the NB100 was the light weight and low profile soles. It's very minimalist and I liked that. But it was a bit narrow and sometimes it would chafe in the back.I tried the montrail in the store and liked that it was lightweight and had a pretty neutral sole with good padding. I always wear a size 11 so that's what I got and it felt ok in the store. Fast forward to my first run on trail. BAD. It was too small and my big toe got jammed pretty good. Roadrunner was good about exchanging it to a bigger size and I got 11.5. I tried running in it and it was much better but I found that the uppers were too squishy and my forefoot tended to slide side to side a bit more than I liked. I tried to tie the laces really tight but it didn't help enough. Also, the NB100 had a hard plastic plate that ran through the bottom sole that protected the feet well. The Montrail Rogue has a thicker foam sole but it didn't have a similar hard plate so some of the sharper points tended to put a pressure point on your feet.All in all, I haven't done more than 10 miles at a time in them so I'm not sure if the softer foam will pay off on longer runs or not. I have a 50k race next weekend so I will find out how they perform and report back.

Comfortable shoe, but quick tread wear

This may be the most comfortable running shoe I've ever purchased, but the tread started to wear immediately after use. I've put on about 60 miles and the tread is completely worn in some places. Disappointing durability.UPDATE-The shoes only last 2.5 months. The tread is completely worn on the heal and ball of the foot. That said, these were the most comfortable running shoes I've ever run in. It's a shame the durability wasn't able to match the comfort.

good shoe....could have done a bit better

Montrail comes out with a welcome addition to their lineup with a very light, proper feeling shoe that comes tantalizingly close to really delivering the goods. The fit is quite good and the well designed mini lugs that make a bigger lug outsole seems quite grippy in all but the slimeiest and muddiest of conditions (but what does really work in the slop?) The only problem with the shoe is that there is a gap of protection in both rubber outsole and tread lug components directly under the third metatarsal head which if you are a mid to forefoot efficient runner is precisely where you need the protection for long days out amongst the rocks and the roots. Looking forward to next year's edition already!

almost love the shoe... but tears at small toe

I was heading out on backpacking trip and wanted to have a lightweight shoe. I heard good things about the minimus. I got them, and didn't take long for me to love them. They are super lightweigt. I love that. After wearing these, I don't like the feeling of big heavy shoes anymore.My only problem with these shoes is that they wear really quickly, particularly around the small toe. My first pair started to tear at the small toe area around the first month. After a few months the hole was significant. I ordered a second pair on amazon, and had a friend bring them over to me on his way to join me traveling for a few weeks. The second pair started to tear in the same spot no more than 2 weeks later. I do not think these shoes are designed very well for mobilitiy. I believe the 10's, not the 20's seem to be better designed for flexion than these shoes, which I believed has caused the tearing. Otherwise, I like them.

Awesome Shoe

Ran my first half marathon in these shoes and several 5ks. Super light weight and very neutral. Limited cushioning which I prefer. Feels like you're running on air. Also did some trail running in Australia. Starting to wear them down a bit and might just buy another pair.

Cold Weather Warrior

I bought this shoe because I was planning on going to Korea in the winter. I wore it is the coldest temperature in korea since 1957. My feet were not cold. I also ran in snow and melted snow. Nothing got in the shoe. The only mosture inside the shoe was sweat. I love this shoe, but then again, I love Saucony. The Kinvara is my favorite, but this is a close second.

Heavy Shoe for Running

I purchased these so my feet would not freeze here in the Northeast. So far they have served their purpose, they are thick soled shoes, very heavy for a running shoe. It almost feels like a combat boot. As long as they continue to keep my feet warm as the temperatures drop I will be happy. I would not recommend them for treadmill use, as I said they are very heavy for a running shoe. A good outdoor shoe for trail or road running.
